More and more incidents of MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) have been popping up lately. It's becoming a VERY serious problem. There seem to be two basic strains, the nastier version tends to be acquired in the hospital setting, Community Acquired (CA-MRSA) is more prevalent but not as nasty.

Common methods of contracting CA-MRSA

Gym Equipment
Police/Fire/EMS handling of infected customers
Common use public equipment i.e. telephones, computer keyboards, ATMs etc

For your reading pleasure (make sure you haven't just or are about to eat LOL)

Make sure when using gym equipment that you wipe down with alcohol or chlorine based disinfectants. Anti-biotic disinfectants are absolutely useless. You will never see me barefoot in any Dojo.

Forget about your bare foot in a dojo, when are we going to see any body part of yours in a dojo?

The most common way to get cut in a dojo is from toe nails. When doing kicking drills and holding a focus mitt, people always miss the mitt and his an arm. Usually, if washed immediately the cut heals no problem.

The thing I worry about is conjunctivitis, but that is easy to get rid off. Always getting the flu and a cold from all the kids.
