NH TAG returns outdoors starting Monday, May 25!
Come join us at Pelham Fish & Game at 5:00PM!

What is TAG?
New Hampshire Tactical Arts Group is a group of shootists made up of civilians, law enforcement and military who seek a venue to hone their self defense shooting skills. While we concentrate on the deployment of pistols for self defense we also include other tools such as rifle, shotgun, less-lethal, hand to hand and most importantly one's brain to successfully solve tactical problems.

Isn't this IDPA?
No. However what you learn at NH TAG can be used in your IDPA competition and we strongly encourage you to shoot competitively.

What do I need to bring?
To take part in TAG or IDPA you need a pistol or revolver in good repair, a holster that covers the trigger guard and stays open when the weapon is removed, a cover garment (vest, over-shirt, etc.), at least 3 magazines or speedloaders, eye and ear protection. You will typically shoot 50-100 rounds an evening.

Qualification:
TAG requires that you pass a simple qualification test of 42 rounds. Its purpose is to ensure that one is safe with holster work and reasonably familiar with basic gun-handling skills. It is actually easier than the IDPA classifier. All the help you need will be there so just show up and say "I'm a new shooter and I'd like some help learning to do this" and the RO staff will be happy to help you. TAG also requires proof of good character, meaning a concealed carry permit or written or verbal endorsement from some appropriate personage such as police chief or PFG board member, etc.

SAFETY NOTE:
TAG runs a "hot" range. This means your weapon is loaded with a round in the chamber when holstered. On arrival at TAG leave your gun cased or holstered at all times except at the Safety Table or under the supervision of an RO on the firing line. Again ask for help and an RO will get you squared away in no time.
